There are two powertrain options for the 2018 Subaru Outback. First is a 2.5-liter Subaru BOXER engine with 175 horsepower and Lineartronic CVT; Continuously Variable Transmission. The other engine option is the 3.6-liter BOXER engine with 256 horsepower and is also paired with a Lineartronic CVT transmission. Both powertrain options have a maximum towing ability of 2,700 lbs. Trim Levels & Features

The 2018 Outback has six trim levels available. The Subaru 2.5i is a well-equipped base trim with standard raised roof rails, review camera, and SUBARU STARLINK with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Or choose between the 2.5i Premium, 2.5i Limited, and 2.5i Touring trim levels that are also powered by the 2.5-liter four cylinder engine. The 2.5i Touring features standard EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, Reverse Automatic braking, and Harman Kardon premium audio system. The last two trim levels of the 2018 Outback are the 3.6R Limited and the 3.6R Touring. Both trim levels are powered by the 3.6-liter six cylinder engine. The 3.6R Touring comes standard with navigation on an eight-inch multimedia touchscreen, EyeSight technology, and Power rear gate with height memory function.
